Inspired by my cooperative Public Art Grant that I was awarded by UF/Shands, this artwork is a tribute to that wonderful honor. You can have this contemporary aluminum & fused glass artwork in your home and drive by the primary inspiration ... My outdoor artworks and cooperative artworks on 1701 N. Main St. in Gainesville, FL.
PROCESS: Each square was routed and fused glass was cut to size to create the cobalt blue portals. A matching top layer of anodized aluminum was added to the exterior for a contemporary clean look.
Elements Used: Anodized Aluminum, lightweight PVC composites, Fused Glass and board for backing.
Size & Weight: 25”x47”x1¼” - Appx.34 pounds (more when shipped with packing materials)
Display & Lighting: This artwork is designed for display in an indoor environment. Because of metal's natural reflective nature, a variety of lighting sources will compliment this artwork in aesthetically pleasing ways. This piece is ready to hang as soon as received. A heavy duty mounting bracket(s) is securely attached to the back of the piece and matching drywall mounting hardware is included with the artwork. Artwork is also ready to hang horizontally or vertically (hanging hardware securely attached to the back of the artwork).
